limping along
a poem by jacob berg

god was a hedonist
glancing at ghouls again
cody had calipers
man got a song for free
limpets and silverfish
rinsing the reticent
leaping impediments
limping along.
clever, they called the boy
dark and impetuous
naked and vigilant
neck of a swan until
one blessed day on
the tailwind of circumstance
swallowing seeds he
grew into a lawn.
divers don’t die, they just
slip through the hologram
soak through the fabric
elicit the dawn,
cody had calipers
man got a song for free
text me i’m driving
i’m limping along.
