3 is a Number in the Title Before Metamodernism
Sincere ironic detachment
“Our project is to end the cycle.”
Modernity into postmodernity, postmodernity into post-postmodernity. Our project is to end the cycle. We find in our time what we have been reaching for. The past, the present, and the future intertwined with our very being. The fact of change, of conflict, of resolution, waving in and out of itself as we live, our physical selves the costituent substance of our material selves.
“Metamodernism… is an ethic. The resolution and unresolution of paradoxical conflict through human embrace.”
Metamodernism, like all art forms, is an ethic. The resolution and unresolution of paradoxical conflict through human embrace. It has as much capacity to exist in the artistic as it does in the personal, and it only does insofar as it does. Metamodernism is a call to sincerity, an infinity of internal pilgrimmages, the making of oneself into a mecca for conscious being.
“Metamodernism is a call to sincerity…”
It is not where we are, it is where we have been. It is where we have always been and where we are going. Time is woven into matter itself. So we don’t take it too seriously, or ourselves, or you. We’re bits of being and we cause each other to know. Cheers.
